Young Labour in Strood
Young Labour is the active, campaigning youth section of the Labour Party for all members under 27. We have a number of members in Strood and are keen to promote younger citizens onto the council.
Medway needs younger people to take an active say in our community. For local democracy and our community we are actively looking for people opposed to the manner in which the tories on Medway Council have acted across Strood, (whether over cuts in local services, neglect of our parks and greenspaces, or the lack of consultation over Temple and Chapter Schools.) We believe Medway has a brighter future ahead but it is clear local conservatives have not listed to the concerns of young people in Strood.
In addition to being active in Strood, Young Labour actively campaigns for a better Britain with our core beliefs of equality, social justice and opportunity for all, the Labour Party is the natural home for young people who share our vision of a fair and prosperous society.
Campaign: Votes at 16
Young members can get involved in the Labour Party through local policy events, campaigning in Rochester & Strood and attending lots of our events and socials. There is something for everyone who wishes to build a more equal, socially just and democratic country.
As a party member you also have the right to pick and stand to be a local councillor candidate. Labour is actively seeking to promote new talent across Strood.
We work closely in Strood with other youth sections including Progress, Young Fabians and and the youth sections of affiliated trade unions and affiliates.
